Willem is a civil engineer with a PhD in Irrigation engineering from Utah State University in the US. Originally from the Netherlands he now is an Aussie, living in Canberra. Throughout his professional life he has been involved with flow measurement all over the world; measuring, calibrating and interpreting the results. Apart from being representative for Mobile Water Management In Australia, he works with the Murray-Darling Basin Authority, promoting use of Remote Sensing for dissemination and interpretation of water balance data and owns the consultancy company Willflow. He advocates the water-food-energy nexus as the major driver for sustainable green economy.
